“Congo” was donated to us March 22, 2006. He is a three year old Ball Python around three feet long with awesome coloration and markings. The lady who donated him to us said her son had gone off to college and left the snake for her to take care of. Cindy and Doug had met her a few weeks before at the local pet store where she was getting some mice for Congo. She didn’t want to feed the snake mice but she wasn’t going to let it die either. Cindy told her about the Sanctuary and gave her a number to call if her son didn’t want the snake anymore. She did call, so Cindy and Doug went to get him. It was only a twenty mile drive yet worth it. The lady donated the tank and all the accessories with Congo. We are grateful to her. Congo loves taking baths in his water bowl and coiling atop his heat rock. He is a real aggressive eater too. As soon as his meal is placed in the bucket with him he strikes immediately with one hundred percent accuracy. He has been a great contribution to the Sanctuary

“Monty” is a beautiful male Ball Python. He was donated to the Sanctuary in October 2006 by a family who was moving and could not take him on the long, cold trip. They had Monty for close to three years or more and wanted the best for him. They knew if he was taken on the trip that it would risk his health or even his life. That’s what we call responsible pet owners. Monty is a mild mannered boy and doesn’t mind to be held. He is close to four feet long and has beautiful markings and coloration. We have never had any problems getting him to take a feed, he loves to eat. He shares his enclosure with his best buddy Congo. They like to sleep in their artificial cave after warming themselves on the heat rock or under their heat lamp. We have not seen any aggression between them; they seem to enjoy each others company. We are fortunate to have Monty. Our gratitude goes out to his original family for not treating him as just something else to move.
